“Why Can’t I Lose Weight?”

Let’s talk about the question that I get asked the most often (and used to ask myself):

“Why can’t I lose weight?”

First things first, this isn’t a shame post. This isn’t a “you’re doing everything wrong” post either. But if this question has been bouncing around in your mind lately, it might be time to zoom out a little, not just on what you’re eating, but how you’re thinking about food and your body in the first place.

Because sometimes, it’s not actually about the food.

It’s the mindset.

We’ve been taught to label everything as “good” or “bad.” Avocados? Good. Cookies? Bad. Salad? Virtuous. Bread? The devil.
But that black-and-white thinking can really alter your relationship with food, and ironically, make it harder to feel in control.

Food isn’t good or bad. It’s just food.
Some foods fuel us, some foods comfort us, and some foods do both. What matters most is how we frame our choices, so how they make us feel physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Here’s something else to consider:
You might be trying to copy someone else’s eating habits, thinking if it works for them, it’ll work for you.
But the truth? Your body isn’t theirs.
You have your own unique needs, hunger cues, metabolism, and lifestyle. What fuels your best friend or favorite influencer might leave you feeling drained, hungry, or constantly craving snacks at 9pm.

So instead of copying, try tuning in. Ask:
What actually feels good in my body?
What meals keep me energized and satisfied?

Now, let’s be real, sometimes, it’s not a mystery. Sometimes the answer to “Why can’t I lose weight?” is… well, because you’re not really being honest with yourself.
(I know. That one stings a little. Been there.)

It’s easy to think you’re eating well, moving your body, sleeping enough, drinking water… but are you really? Or are you skipping breakfast, snacking mindlessly, and calling two spoonfuls of peanut butter “lunch”?
This isn’t about judgment. It’s about self-awareness.

And finally, there’s no shortcut around this part:
You have to put in the work to understand food.
What actually fuels your body?
Which nutrients support your hormones, your energy, your digestion?
What does a balanced plate actually look like for your lifestyle?

If you’ve been feeling stuck, frustrated, or just don’t know where to start, you’re not alone.
That’s exactly why I created my 14-Day Meal Plan. It’s designed to help you take the guesswork out of eating, learn how to build real, satisfying meals, and feel good in your body again. Think of it as a gentle reset, with zero restriction and lots of real food.

You don’t have to do it perfectly. You just have to start.
